Interesting and clever! I hadn't thought of this, but have been looking for a lightweight monopod, though, for macro situations. I have a large tripod that I have rarely taken out for digital, too much gear. And those little desk type tripods seem to be useless. What I need is a little telescoping rod that will give me a steadying foot while snapping, then be able to disappear like a radio antenna.
